Sling Studio

Babywearing in the heart of Leyland

The new sling studio in Leyland is a safe, comfortable, friendly space offering babywearing and parenting groups. Based in the heart of Leyland town centre, it is easily accessed from the motorway with plenty of cheap parking options nearby.

The studio is a safe space for all and is proudly breastfeeding, LGBTQIA+ and disability friendly. 

There will be a full timetable published each month however the general activities will be similar week – by – week. Special events such as workshops and sling walks will be one-off dates throughout the months. 

The sling studio also sells new & preloved slings/carriers, babywearing accessories, preloved children’s clothes and preloved maternity & breastfeeding clothing.

By car – easy access from the M6 motorway. 

By bus – Sumner Street is just off Hough Lane, which is on the 111, 109 and 113 bus routes.

The nearest car park is Sumner Street Car Park in Leyland. It is free for 1 hour and just £1 for up to 3 hours.

There is also parking at King Street car park in Leyland. It is £1 for 3 hours or £3 for all day.

There is also on-street parking down most side roads however these tend to be 1 hour only.

The studio is on the ground floor and accessible to wheelchairs. There are no disability aids in the toilet area. 

There is space to bring prams into the studio however when attending if you are able to bring your baby in arms, in your current sling/carrier, or in the car seat that would be preferable. The car park is less than 1 minutes walk.

  • Monday - AM consultation slots available. PM sling library stay & play session
  • Tuesday - AM & PM consultation slots available
  • Wednesday - Available to hire
  • Thursday - Morning & afternoon consultation slots available
  • Friday - AM sling library stay & play. PM consultation slots available
  • Saturday - AM consultation slot when ADHOC
